Dior Homme fans may have noticed that the midtown Manhattan flagship store’s facade has recently been shuttered for renovation. For those who can’t wait until the store’s re-opening this fall to get their hand’s on the label’s amazing collection of denim, or their minimal-chic Spring/Summer line, a Dior Homme pop-up store has now opened in SoHo. The store will carry all categories under the Dior Homme label, including ready-to-wear, footwear, eyewear, leather goods, watches, jewelry, and fragrances. The new space is meant to be both modern and traditional, reflecting the dual nature of the label itself. The store features an exposed brick arcade, lofted ceilings, and a rear skylight, furnished with slick, modern benches, Parsons shelving, and glass showcases. In keeping with their new, contemporary space, Creative Director for Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche, chose a piece of artwork by post-situationist artist Robert Montgomery, an imposing, neon, text-based piece entitled “Whenever We See the Sun” (2012), to be displayed in the store’s entrance.
