Known for her ethereal watercolors that redefine the female gaze, Feingold’s work explores themes of femininity, sensuality, and empowerment. This new online presentation features over 50 releases from her archives, offering a poignant tribute to an artist whose visual language was as powerful as it was poetic. Described by Vogue as “a trailblazing artist on a meteoric rise,” her work resonated internationally, capturing the attention of collectors, critics, and curators alike.

“Fahren Feingold captures the space where the ethereal meets the erotic,” wrote Huffington Post, framing her work as a direct challenge to the centuries of censorship and patriarchal bias that have long obscured the beauty of the female form.

Tragically, Feingold passed away from cancer in 2023 at the age of 43. This exhibition serves both as a celebration of her life and as a reflection on the legacy of an artist who fearlessly reclaimed the female body as a subject of strength, beauty, and agency.

The launch of Lasting Legacy follows the gallery’s in-person retrospective, Ethereal Legacy: The Art of Fahren Feingold, which was held in May 2024, featuring over 50 never-before-seen paintings from her estate, including works on paper and canvas. The show served as a tribute to Feingold’s trailblazing spirit and her unwavering commitment to empowering women through her art. This new online presentation builds upon that moment, offering viewers an opportunity to engage with Feingold’s visionary practice and to acquire works that encapsulate the spirit of her feminist ethos.

Feingold’s watercolors drew from a range of visual sources, including her own photography, early 20th-century erotica, and vintage magazines from the 1970s and 80s. The Untitled Space featured her work in numerous exhibitions from her first group show appearance in “LIFEFORCE” (2016) to solo presentations curated by Indira Cesarine including six solo shows: “FAHREN FEINGOLD” (2017), “PEEP SHOW” (2018), “Golden Touch” (2018), “HIGH ON LIFE” (2021), “WET DREAMS” (2021), and “LIVING FOR LOVE” (2023). She participated in over 20 group shows at the gallery, including landmark exhibitions such as “UPRISE / ANGRY WOMEN,” “BODY BEAUTIFUL,” and the Art4Equality x SaveArtSpace public art exhibition.

“Opening my eyes to the beauty and love that exists within me and around, my paintings act as a quiet dagger of truth, exposing the beauty of the feminine form from the female gaze, emphasizing the female body as a great thing to behold, free of judgment and objectification. My paintings of the female figure expand the footprint of women painted by women, celebrating sisterhood and empowering female themes.”– Artist Fahren Feingold, from her artist statement for her last exhibition, “LIVING FOR LOVE,” (2023).

Artist Bio

Artist Fahren Feingold’s (1980-2023) ethereal watercolors gained recognition from collectors and critics alike for their sensitive, dreamy colors, graceful brushstrokes, and depiction of the female figure. With her palette of bright pastels and soft colors, she invited viewers to step inside her dreamlike world, giving new voices to women of the past and present while exploring larger notions of female constructs in contemporary society. Her artwork and exploration of the female form empowered many and served as a testament to the strength of her artistic vision.

Her watercolors featuring bold, feminine nudes referenced her own photographs as well as imagery from early 20th-century French erotica, and vintage American magazines from the 70s and 80s. Feingold’s work was featured in many international publications that celebrated her visual aesthetic and captivating signature style.

After earning her BFA from Parsons and Glasgow School of Art, she worked as a fashion designer for a number of top brands prior to dedicating her career to her passion for painting. In 2016, her artwork caught the eye of the legendary Nick Knight, who commissioned her for SHOWstudio, and the same year, her work was featured at The Untitled Space in the group show “LIFEFORCE” curated by Kelsey and Remy Bennett. Represented by The Untitled Space since 2017, Feingold was featured in 30 exhibitions presented by the gallery, including six solo shows.
