FINNEAS has announced his debut album, Optimist alongside a new song “A Concert Six Months From Now” accompanied by a stunning music video. The eight-time Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter, and musician announced the album’s October 15th released date alongside a North American headline tour to follow this year. The 24-year-old, who recently signed to Interscope Records, is capping off an already successful year with this new album, after producing and co-writing his sister Billie Eilish’s sophomore effort Happier Than Ever in July.
The new track “A Concert Six Months From Now” is a pandemic-inspired ballad, with a complimenting music video filmed at the legendary Hollywood Bowl mentioned in the song’s first verse. The video, directed by frequent FINNEAS collaborator Sam Bennett, sees the singer dance around the empty concert hall and run through vacant rows of seats in an eclectic night-time performance. The song will join the previously released “What They’ll Say About Us” on the fall album, as well as 12 other unreleased tracks to form an increasingly promising debut.
FINNEAS’ tour will kick off in San Diego on October 25th, with following stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, Athens, OH, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, New York, Boston, and Montreal before concluding in Toronto on November 21st. 2021 will also see FINNEAS appear at a multitude of festivals including BottleRock in Napa, CA on September 3rd, iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 18th in Las Vegas and October 1st & 8th at Austin City Limits in Austin, TX. All of these dates are ahead of his return to touring with Eilish on her 2022 Happier Than Ever World Tour.
