Anna Dello Russo, the editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan and co-founder of Moda Operandi, described as a “fashion maniac” by Helmut Newton, just released a first look at her forthcoming accessories collaboration with H&M. For Dello Russo, accessories are what makes an outfit; they add that spectacular extra that puts an ensemble over the top. Dello Russo has proved this time and time again in her own life, wearing oversized cherry hats, feathered wings, and daring looks straight off the runway. And now she’s bringing that same whimsy, flair, and sense of fun to her collection for H&M. In a press release for the collection, Dello Russo said, “I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M has involved a fashion director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion.” The collection features bold, statement pieces that are attention-getting and luxurious without breaking the bank. Dello Russo wanted to make a collection that you could throw on and, “turn an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.” H&M’s Creative Advisor Margareta van den Bosch said, “The collection is a celebration of excess, fantasy and decoration.” The collection is planned to hit stores on October 4th, right in time for all of the Spring fashion weeks. Judging from H&M’s last collection with Versace, fashionable ladies who want to get their hands on these accessories might want to start lining up now.
