American, Texan born guitarist, Gary Clark Jr. is set to join Kings of Leon for a 2014 arena tour. Titled as the future of Texas blues, Clark Jr. has graced the stage with various legends of rock and roll. This year, at the Crossroads Guitar Festival, he’s performed alongside B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, John Mayer, Blake Mills, and Jeff Beck. The Blu-ray, DVD, and CD editions of “Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 NYC,” will be released on Nov 18th, and is available for pre-order now at: http://www.crossroadsguitarfestival.com. His smooth, crisp vocals and sensational hand work with his Gibson and Fender has trademarked him as a guitarist extraordinaire.
Clark has been featured in the Showtime documentary Made in America, directed by Ron Howard, music mogul Jay-Z, and Oscar-winning Brian Gazer. The film highlights some of the biggest names within the music industry. Unifying artists such as, Janelle Monae, Pearl Jam, Skrillex, AlunaGeorge, Run-D.M.C, and Kanye West to perform at the multi-genre, unforgettable this past September at the two-day “Made in America” festival in Philadelphia. In other news, Gary Clark Jr has just been nominated for The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the 2013 Soul Train Awards for his work on Alicia Keys and Maxwell’s “Fire We Make”.
The tour kicks off in Atlanta come February 5th and wraps up on March 8th in Chicago. Gary Clark Jr. has been on the road since late September for his own sold-out headlining theatre tour, which continues through November 29th. All his forthcoming tour dates are listed below.
