INSIDE “THE MOMENT” CHARLI XCX’S STAR-STUDDED CINEMATIC TURN CO-STARRING KYLIE JENNER, ROSANNA ARQUETTE, AND MORE

A24 has officially announced The Moment, a new feature film created by and starring Charli XCX, marking her first leading role on the big screen. Described as “a rising pop star navigating the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut,” the movie promises to merge Charli’s razor-sharp self-awareness with the seductive chaos of modern stardom.

Directed by Aidan Zamiri — Charli’s frequent collaborator behind many of her Crash and Brat visuals — The Moment is co-written by Zamiri and Bertie Brandes, from an original concept by Charli herself. The film is produced by Charli XCX and David Hinojosa, with a score by her longtime creative partner A. G. Cook.

The cast list reads like a dream sequence of pop culture and high fashion: Rosanna Arquette, Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, Alexander Skarsgård, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Shygirl, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, and more. This surreal mix of actors, models, and real-life tastemakers hints at a meta-commentary on celebrity and authenticity — a theme Charli has been dissecting through her music for over a decade.

Behind the camera, the creative team is equally impressive: cinematography by Sean Price Williams (Good Time, Heaven Knows What), production design by Francesca Balestra Di Mottola, and casting by Jennifer Venditti (Euphoria). Executive producers include Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwartz-Wright, and Zach Nutman.

Though plot details remain tightly under wraps, The Moment already carries A24’s signature blend of dark humor and emotional precision. Charli — known for pushing pop into experimental, self-referential territory — appears poised to do the same for film, turning the spotlight inward to examine the machinery of fame itself.

Charli’s was first profiled in The Untitled Magazine 2013 with an exclusive photo shoot by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran on her debut album read here. Two years later, she graced the cover of The Untitled Magazine’s GirlPower Issue, speaking candidly about female empowerment in the music industry. Her evolution from rising pop disruptor to A24 film auteur feels like the natural continuation of her fearless trajectory.

With The Moment set to arrive in theaters in 2026, Charli XCX once again blurs the boundary between performer and provocateur — turning her own fame into the ultimate creative experiment.
