The Jill Stuart Spring/Summer 2017 runway show, presented on September 10th as part of New York Fashion Week, was a twirl of flowing and soft fabrics in tones not expected for Spring. Instead of the typical baby pinks or pale yellows, Stuart opted for richer versions of these colors with olives, metallics, teals, muted coral, and grey scale hues.
The designer did stay true to the season with florals, but made them an interesting combination of bohemian and grunge with sweater arm warmers and other layers under some of the pieces that proves her designs cross seasonal barriers. It was delicate and feminine while still baring skin, a dainty yet tough collection that is sure to appeal to a wide range of buyers.
