Music royalty Julian Lennon (yes – that Lennon) partnered with the Morrison Gallery on December 6th as part of Art Basel Miami, and was on hand to host an exhibit of a rare and never-before-seen collection of the museum’s archive of world-class music photographs. Dream South Beach, the newly announced winner of the Orbitz Best Stay and Gold Key Award for Best Guest Room Design, transformed itself into a New York City-based fine art photography gallery from head to toe. Also on hand was Alison Mosshart of New York-inspired rock duo The Kills. Mosshart took control of the unique “Electric Room” pop up – designed and crafted exclusively for the High Bar – and spun a DJ set for a wide variety of guests, including Timothy White, Jamie Hince, and Adrien Grenier and Jeremy Piven of Entourage fame. Lenon and Mosshart made sure that the event gave something for Art Basel Miami patrons to remember – no easy feat during a weekend known for its expert mixing of high art and high society.
