Ahead of the launch of the first Levi’s RED collection to be released in seven years, which will be available worldwide exclusively at LN-CC.COM, LN-CC have curated a selection of key pieces from the first ever Levi’s RED 1999 collection. Entitled ‘Twisted RED’, the collection was a turning point in reinventing the classic 5-pocket jean and a seminal moment in the evolution of denim – paving the way for eight RED collections over the past 15 years.
Levi’s RED is a premium concept collection by Levi Strauss and Co. that is dedicated to reinventing the iconic Levi’s 5-pocket jean and proposing new forms and aesthetics for jeanswear. Levi’s RED garments are notorious for being experimental, technical, and complicated to manufacture.
‘Lined RED’ Will launch exclusively at LN-CC in January.
The 2014 ‘Lined RED’ collection draws its inspiration from Levi’s long history of lining many of the denim styles with cleanly finished blanket fabrics or sheep’s wool as early as 1879. Evident throughout the collection are various experiments with new types of garment lining that reveal the beautiful balance between durability and delicacy. As with previous LEVI’S RED collections, Lined RED references Levi’s archival garments but reinterprets virtually every element. The result is a series of radical new constructions that suggest the Levi’s jeanswear of the future.
