Fast on the heels of NYFW comes London Fashion Week! From February 17th to the 21st Christopher Kane, JW Anderson, Gareth Pugh, TopShop Unique and many more will unveil their latest collections. Simone Rocha, the 2016 British Womenswear Designer of the year, will present on Saturday, the 18th. Fashion Fund winner, Sophia Webster will follow a couple days later by hosting a presentation of her FW17 offerings on Monday, February 20th.
Since Trump’s inauguration London has erupted in protests against his immigration policy and impending reign of hate. Will fashion designers follow the lead of the new resistance art movement and present clothes that make a fashion statement against fascism or will they counter the stark political atmosphere with make-believe motifs and dreamy dresses? We’re betting that a few of the NEWGEN designers will be making bold statements but we’ll have to wait until February to see.
