This September, London Fashion Week (Spring/Summer 2016) will move from the courtyard of Somerset House to Brewer Street Car Park in Soho. The new space in the West End will be the new heart of the city-wide fashion celebration with the added benefit of close proximity to many major retail spaces, allowing creativity and commerce to truly synergize:
Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council illuminated the move:
“The long term growth of the UK’s designer fashion market is reflected geographically in this move that will see London Fashion Week designers showcasing collections in one of London’s most vibrant, diverse and creative hubs set within a mile of Bond Street, Dover Street, Mount Street, Oxford Street, and Regent Street.”
The Brewer street location, an art-deco building designed by architect JJ Joass, was built in 1929, and has since housed fashion shows for Richard Nicoll, Antonio Berardi, and House of Holland.
