On October 1st and 2nd, Founders Entertainment will launch the first Meadows Music and Art Festival, which will be held at Citi Field in Queens, New York. Founders Entertainment is the same group who organizes the annual Governors Ball festival in June. The idea behind the Meadows Music and Art Festival is to bring the same positive energy and opportunities to Queens as Governors Ball was able to provide for the Randall’s Island area.

Tom Russell, a partner at Founders Entertainment, expressed his hopes for the festival:

“Launching the Meadows Festival in Queens this fall with an incredible lineup of music, art, food and culture is a dream come true. As a native New Yorker I grew up in awe of the innovative spirit surrounding Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. With this event we can shine a spotlight once again on this iconic neighborhood and bring with it the economic benefits, strong community partnerships and local hiring for which Founders Entertainment is known.”

The festival will feature performances from artists, such as Kanye West, The Weeknd, Chance The Rapper, Kygo, Grimes, The 1975, Bryson Tiller, SavagesMetric, Chromeo, and others across four stages. Kanye West was announced as the headliner of the festival to make up for his Governors Ball cancellation due to the weather, while this will be The Weeknd’s only New York City performance of the year.

Besides the epic line up, there will also be a cultural element for guests to enjoy. The world’s fair set-up will include cuisines from all over the globe, as well as local restaurants that best represent the Flushing Meadows neighborhood. The general sale tickets became available to purchase June 23rd.
