Brazilian artist Luiz Zerbini is presenting new large format paintings, including both colourful, richly figurative works, and abstract ‘grid’ paintings. In these works, Zerbini resolves the duality between figuration and abstraction, in a balancing act between order and chaos, combining nature and architecture, surface and depth, movement and stasis, materiality and opticality.
Concurrent to his exhibition at Max Wigram Gallery, Zerbini’s work will be on show at Inhotim Centro de Arte Contemporânea, and as part of group exhibitions at the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain, Paris, and 30x Bienal, Fundação Bienal de São Paulo.
