In his third couture collection for Maison Margiela, designer John Galliano paid tribute to the late David Bowie.
Galliano, a life-long fan of Bowie’s inimitable style, channelled the iconic star’s Aladdin Sane and Ziggy Stardust personas. Models wore retro knee high boots, androgynous jumpsuits, and sequined collars
The glam rock aesthetic, so famously championed by Bowie, permeated the collection from start to finish through the beauty looks created by Pat McGrath. Models rocked bright orange, black or ice white mullets, complimented with glittered lipsticks and sparkling stars around their eyes.
For his collection, Galliano revisited some of his favoured styles, with a new avante-garde twist. This time around, belted military coats, plunging blazers, silk bomber jackets and velvet dresses were all accessorised with the addition of voluminous fabric forming into new structures and over-sized bows.
