Moderat came into existence as the combination between Apparat & Modeselektor and has just announced their second studio album, called II, will be available digitally on August 2nd and in physical format on August 6th, worldwide. The record, to be released via via Monkeytown Records, will have a standard format and will also be available in a Deluxe Edition for fans and collectors.
“Moderat is Gernot, Szary and Sascha.
We have known each other for 12 years now, and during that time we haven’t really changed that much: We are still three guys mostly talking about hihats and tape machines while hanging out in the studio.
Moderat as a fusion of Modeselektor and Apparat is a mutual path that hasn’t been and will never be easy. It’s simply more than ‘just’ making music together. It is, again and again, an experiment of exploring our similarities and differences and interlacing them into something new and exciting.
Anyway, we are happy to share MODERAT II with you!
Gernot, Szary & Sascha”
The team will announce details of a world tour following the release of their new album, which will follow a previous set of dates back in 2009-2010 in which they played 79 shows in 28 countries, including Germany, UK, USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Russia, Spain, Korea, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, and more. Moderat has been an opener in several Radiohead shows and has been voted “Live Act of the Year” in Groove Magazine, Resident Advisor, De-Bug, and others.
