Where there’s smoke, there’s… fashion? It’s nothing new to use special effects during fashion week but Jeremy Scott achieved a first on February 25th when he sent models down the Moschino runway in literal smoking jackets. Dresses and blazers with charred edges and burn holes adorned models who also had portable smoke machines that delivered a puff of fog at the push of a button. Leather and denim punctuated by jewel toned, oversized bows and voluptuous trains were a welcomed return to characteristic Moschino.

Missing from the collection, were Scott’s usual cartoons and camp but he didn’t completely lose his sense of fun – one model wore a giant chandelier as a dress. When asked about how he came up with collection’s blazing theme Scott stated, “I was thinking about cigarettes and people’s addiction to fashion.”
