Natalie Portman is happily married in real life, but in the new Miss Dior fragrance short film, she plays the part of a runaway bride. Directed by Anton Corbijn, the film is set to the tune of Janis Joplin‘s “Piece of My Heart.” In the film, Natalie runs away from the altar, discards her white Dior wedding dress, and is swept away by another man in a helicopter.
The video cuts between black and white scenes of the Oscar-winning beauty in a handcrafted wedding gown, walking down the aisle on the arm of her father, to bright color shots of her gleefully fleeing the ceremony. As Valentine’s Day approaches, the ad for the best-selling fragrance portrays a joyful yet unexpected twist to the traditional bridal fairy tale.
Portman was in attendance to last week’s Dior couture show in Paris.
