The PhotoVogue Festival will be back in Milan at BASE Milano for its ninth edition from March 6 to 9. Co-curated by Caterina De Biasio, Visual Editor at PhotoVogue, and Daniel Rodríguez Gordillo, Senior Manager of Education & Community Initiatives at Condé Nast, the notable festival highlights conscious fashion photography that merges ethics with aesthetics.
“Art has the power to inspire meaningful change,” says Alessia Glaviano, Head of Global PhotoVogue and Festival Director.
This year, PhotoVogue is presenting a diverse line up of exhibitions, discussion panels, presentations, and digital showcases, and aims to create an engaging and inclusive space for conversation and reflection. Here are five exhibitions you won’t want to miss.
2025 Exhibitions
The PhotoVogue Festival will be hosting five exceptional exhibitions:
The Tree of Life: A Love Letter to Nature
This exhibition is the festival’s central show which presents the works of 45 photographers and 5 video makers from all around the world. This year’s theme explores human connections with animals and the planet, addressing the challenges posed by environmental change, honoring the communities fighting to protect the Earth, and encouraging more sustainable ways of living. These works highlight the delicacy and beauty of our planet and offer reflection for a hopeful future.

Latin American Panorama
The “Latin American Panorama” exhibition honors the creativity hailing from the Latin American region and its diaspora. The artists’ work, ranging from fashion to environmental documentary and photography, reflects their responses to urgent matters and explores their region’s vibrant multiculturalism.

In Vogue with Nature
“In Vogue with Nature” is a digital exhibition highlighting iconic Vogue covers from past global editions. The themes of these covers honor the harmonious bond between fashion and nature while focusing on sustainability and creativity.

The Tree of Change
This exhibition features a collection of videos and contributions from organizations committed to environmental advocacy.
Some of the works include:
- “Vital Impacts – The Nature of Hope” by Nick Brandt
- “The Ghost Rainforest” by Earthrise Studio
- “Metaphysics of Mixture” by Institute for Postnatural Studies
- “The Essence of Prix Pictet”, “Human Visions” by PHmuseum
- “End Time Project” by Charlie Hamilton James

Seed of Knowledge
“Seeds of Knowledge” is a curation of books and magazines that offers a deeper understanding of the festival’s theme. PhotoVogue is deeply committed to visual literacy and supporting emerging visual artists. They believe creating a strong foundation for visual storytelling is essential to understanding the complex themes explored each year at the festival.
Fostering Conversation Through Presentation
“The Story Behind the Image” will provide a platform for artists to share their work and delve into their creative process. In conversation, notable figures such as Ami Vitale, Richard Mosse, John Hausdoerffer and Gavin Van Horn, Alice Aedy, and John Steele, will be delivering engaging individual presentations.
