In “POWER SHIFT,” photographer Ivy Hyve reframes the corporate office as a site of femme reclamation, casting Maleigh Zan as both subject and disruptor inside a world built to contain her. Shot through a 1970s Americana lens, the editorial turns dated corporate interiors into a charged stage where glamour, identity, and authority collide.
Hyve, a Latina transgender photographer based in California, is known for cinematic visual narratives that center femininity and power without dilution. Here, she places Maleigh inside the rigid architecture of corporate America — wood-paneled walls, clunky desks, muted carpets — and then systematically dismantles its hierarchy. Power dressing becomes literal: sharp tailoring, exaggerated silhouettes, and tactile luxury operate as armor, while moments of stillness feel intentional rather than submissive.
Maleigh Zan embodies this tension effortlessly. A model, actress, and musician from Savannah, Georgia, Zan’s work draws from Southern house, pop-funk, and dance music — a hybrid sound shaped by Atlanta’s musical ecosystem. Her viral single “Cunty,” now streaming over one million times and named Paris Hilton’s favorite summer hit of 2025, cements her as an artist fluent in both provocation and control. That duality carries into the editorial, where confidence is expressed through posture, gaze, and restraint as much as spectacle.
Fashion functions as language throughout the story, styled by Molly Downing. Pieces from Hermès, Fendi, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Mugler, and Dior are styled not as symbols of excess, but as tools of assertion. High fashion is deliberately displaced into a patriarchal office setting, exposing how power has historically been dressed — and how easily it can be rewritten. The result is neither parody nor nostalgia, but quiet rebellion staged in plain sight.
