Rafael Cennamo’s couture-quality dresses have been rocked on the red carpet by everyone from Taylor Swift to Jada Pinkett Smith. And for his Spring/Summer 2013 line, the young designer, who’s been at the helm of his own label since 2006, was inspired largely by Japanese culture, using a similar method of intricate hand embroidery to represent icons of Japanese culture, such as cherry blossoms and kimono shapes. The line featured a number of classic lines with modern flourishes, like metallic accenting around the waistline, forming a corset-type aesthetic. Delicate color palettes and gorgeous sequin work made Cennamo’s line one of a kind.
