The Council of Fashion Designers of America graced songstress Rihanna this week with the prestigious title of CFDA Fashion Icon 2014. The artist was selected based on her contributions to the fashion industry as well as her philanthropic partnership with the M·A·C AIDS Fund’s Viva Glam campaign. Known for her bold, sexy style, wild stage wardrobe, and ever-changing coif, Rihanna joins the ranks of fellow icons including Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss, and Nicole Kidman.
Rihanna recently collaborated on a line for London-based street fashion brand River Island and has also recently teamed up with Armani to create her own signature denim collection. The feisty femme’s tattooed, tomboy, street-chic look has been duplicated everywhere from the runway to high school hallways, showing women the sexy side of snapbacks and sneakers. You just can’t help but love her.
