Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation (RPAF) will be celebrating the 15th Annual Art for Life Hampton Gala– which is the main fundraising event for the foundation. The evening celebrates and promotes the creative energy of New York inner-city youth, and honors exemplary individuals for their success in their respective fields and efforts to better the community. Russell Simmons and his brother Danny are on the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
The event will be honoring Michael R. Bloomberg, Valentino D. Carlotti, Jason Flom (President of Lava Records), and Kimora Lee Simmons.With featured artist Carrie Mae Weems, honorary chair Star Jones, event chairs Jamison Ernest Kimberley Hatchett, Rhonda R. Mims, Camilla Olsson, Josue Sejour (The Sejour Group), with host Soledad O’Brien and special performances by the Original Human BeatBox, Doug E Fresh, Kurtis Blow, and Whodini, and music by DJ M.O.S. Past honorees have included Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Mary J. Blige, Vanessa Williams, Christy Turlington Burns, Alicia Keys, Susan Sarandon, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan, Jamie Foxx, and more. Past supporters and participants of Art for Life have included big names such as Star Gwyneth Paltrow, La La Anthony, Senator Chuck Schumer, Aretha Franklin, Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi, Donald Trump, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Ripa, Heather Graham, Martha Stewart, Usher, Jon Bon Jovi, Ron Betsey Johnson, Patricia Field, Al Roker & Debra Roberts, Jay-Z, Katie Couric, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Kerry Washington.
Tickets for the event are starting at $1,500 and range all the way up to $100,000 for a table of twelve.
