SELIM MOUZANNAR – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION PRESENTATION
Selim Mouzannar is a jewelry designer out of Beirut who comes from a long family tradition of jewelry making. His Fall 2012 collection, like all of his designs, was romantic with a modern touch, taking inspiration from his native city Beirut. The pieces draw on traditional Ottoman style but are given contemporary elements through Mouzannar’s exploration of the interconnected relationship between architecture and jewelry. The designs use various precious and semi-precious stones set in rose and yellow gold, drawing to mind jewelry one might find in a museum. The ornately crafted metalwork and highly detailed stone settings give Mouzannar’s work an heirloom quality that’s one of a kind.
