The Council of Fashion Designers in America (CFDA) Awards brought out the best in the international fashion industry on Sunday, June 5th at The Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Those who were nominated have made outstanding contributions to American fashion in womenswear, menswear, and accessories, as well as journalism, creative vision, personal style, and lifetime achievement.

Models, designers, and celebrities alike made appearances on the blue carpet to model and display designers’ work. Those in attendance were Nicole Kidman, Diane Kruger, Bella Hadid, Raf Simmons, Kenneth Cole, Heidi Klum, Tory Burch, Karlie Kloss, and many more.

After dinner, the awards were announced with a few instances of laughter and tears. The host of the show, Seth Meyers, said that the CFDA awards are called the Oscars, but only by those in the fashion industry. Anna Wintour paid tribute to Franca Sozzani, the editor of Italian Vogue who died last December. Sozzani’s son accepted the Fashion Icon award on her behalf.
