Fashion heavyweights have joined forces to discover the industry’s next big thing, with Vogue‘s Anna Wintour at the helm of a brand new television series focusing on one of fashion’s most coveted competitions. Every year fifty young designers compete for the chance to win the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and this year the process will be shown over six one-hour episodes airing on The Ovation Channel from January 22nd.
The Fashion Fund will follow the process of a panel of judges – Diane von Furstenburg, J. Crew president Jenna Lyons, Neiman Marcus‘ fashion director Ken Downing, Theory cofounder Andrew Rosen, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour – as they work together to narrow down contestants to one winner, set up to become the next big thing in fashion.
With powerhouse Wintour behind the show, fashion lovers are sure to find weekly sanctuary in The Fashion Fund. The victorious designer will win the coveted prize of $300,000 and a one-year mentorship with an industry expert. Think Project Runway mixed with Fashion Star… only with elite, industry-leading judges and a very hefty prize package.
