TRIBECA BALL RETURNS TO SUPPORT THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARTISTS AT THE NEW YORK ACADEMY OF ART
Spring in downtown New York brings with it one of the city’s most anticipated art-world traditions: the Tribeca Ball, the annual benefit for the New York Academy of Art. This year’s event will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Academy’s landmark home at 111 Franklin Street in Tribeca, once again opening the school’s studios to patrons, collectors, artists, and supporters for an evening centered on emerging talent and the creative process.

Supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, the 2026 edition of Tribeca Ball will honor three notable champions of the arts: Alan Cumming as Special Honored Guest, alongside Eileen Guggenheim and Russell Wilkinson, who are being recognized for 44 years of extraordinary support and advancement of the Academy. The evening continues the event’s long-standing role as both a major cultural fundraiser and a rare inside look at one of New York’s leading institutions for figurative and representational art.
For one night, guests will move through five floors of working artist studios, with the chance to experience painting, sculpture, and drawing in progress while engaging directly with the next generation of artists. The event offers a more intimate view of the Academy’s creative ecosystem than the usual gala format, pairing art discovery with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and conversations throughout the building. As described in Academy materials, proceeds from the event support scholarships and the school’s mission to train future artists.

Tribeca Ball 2026 includes multiple ticket levels and ways to participate. The VIP Studio Preview and Gala Dinner begins with a preview at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 8 p.m., while the Studio Party runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Ticket options range from a $300 Studio Party pass to dinner tickets, donor packages, and full-table sponsorships, including fellowship and scholarship-level tables that directly support student artists.
The benefit also extends beyond the event itself through the Tribeca Ball Online Preview Sale, which is live now and features more than 100 student works available for purchase. The preview sale runs through Sunday, April 19 at 5 p.m., offering collectors and supporters another way to invest in emerging artists while contributing to the Academy’s mission.

Founded as a graduate school devoted to rigorous technical training alongside critical discourse, the New York Academy of Art has long positioned itself as a home for artists committed to highly skilled, conceptually aware contemporary work. Tribeca Ball remains one of its most visible and community-driven annual events, bringing that mission into public view inside the very studios where new work is taking shape.
