Founded in London in 2011 on a mutual love of Afrobeat, electronic and dance music, visual art and tequila, Ultraísta are vocalist/artist Laura Bettinson and multi-instrumentalist/producers Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker.
Having recently played Hostess Weekender Festival in Tokyo for the first time as well as wowing on the Jimmy Fallon show earlier this year – their second US TV live appearance, Ultraísta are pleased to announce the release of new single ‘Smalltalk’, due April 22nd through their own label I Am Fortified.
Taken from their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, ‘Smalltalk’ is backed by remixes from Four Tet, Matthew Dear, Sasha and Whomi,
‘Smalltalk’ has already picked up plays from Lauren Laverne, Gilles Peterson, John Kennedy, Frank Skinner and Tom Ravenscroft.
The multimedia trio have also announced a Record Store Day release, comprising of a limited edition 10”. The vinyl will feature exclusive remixes from Matthew Herbert (of ‘Static Light’) and Zero 7 (of ‘Our Song’).
Additionally, Ultraísta have confirmed they will be releasing a remix album in June – more details to come.
