In celebration of The Untitled Space’s 10th anniversary, the Tribeca gallery opened “UPRISE 2025: The Art of Resistance” a group show of 100 artists  curated by gallery founder Indira Cesarine. The landmark exhibition opened on March 8th in honor of International Women’s Day and is on view through March 2025 for Women’s History Month, celebrating a decade of art, activism, and unwavering resistance at The Untitled Space.

The gallery presented a VIP preview, followed by an opening reception,  which saw many of the artists featured in the exhibition in attendance. The anniversary art bash was followed by an after-party for VIP guests and artists at the Public Hotel Roof, which kicked off after the exhibition closed and continued until late.

Presented in collaboration with nonprofit initiative Art4Equality, the UPRISE 2025 exhibition celebrates the power of art to inspire resistance, fuel activism, and catalyze change, and will feature works that address the most pressing political, social, and cultural issues of our time.

UPRISE 2025 reflects on the gallery’s decade-long history of showcasing art that challenges societal norms and amplifies voices of resistance. The featured artists have been instrumental in creating a platform for art that speaks to the political, social, and personal struggles of our time through their inspirational and fearless visuals. The exhibition celebrates the gallery’s legacy as a space that has consistently championed activism, diversity, and social change through art.

Art4Equality is a nonprofit initiative launched in 2019 by Indira Cesarine, supporting art exhibitions, films, and public art projects that center on themes of equality, with a focus on female-identifying artists and their allies. About Indira Cesarine

Indira Cesarine is an artist, curator, and founder of The Untitled Space gallery in Tribeca, NY, Art4Equality a non-profit initiative supporting equality in the arts, and celebrated media publication The Untitled Magazine. As an advocate for social change, Cesarine uses her platform to promote activism and equality through art. Her curatorial vision has shaped The Untitled Space into one of New York’s leading contemporary art galleries, known for its commitment to underrepresented voices and critical engagement with the issues of our time. Through both The Untitled Space and Art4Equality, Cesarine has created a lasting legacy in the world of contemporary art, empowering artists to use their work as a tool for transformation and social justice.
