Designer Vivienne Westwood and her husband, Andreas Kronthaler, debuted their Fall/Winter 2016 collection on March 5, 2016 during Paris Fashion Week. Starting this season, Westwood and her husband will share the brand label, even though Kronthaler has been helping his wife for years. The collection, titled “Sexercise” focused on androgynous styles and featured both male and female models on the runway. Once the collection gets in stores, many of the labels will say “Unisex”.
The designer’s husband also brought a spiritual vibe to the collection. One piece that stood out was a patchwork jacket with the word “Zen” on it. Toga styles, inspired by a long time assistant of Westwood who became a Buddhist nun, graced the runway multiple times. Face adornments in the form of blue sequins and also the letters “O” and “M” were also used as fashion accessories. Closing out the show was a male model dress in a metallic gold dress carrying a bouquet of flowers to really bring home the point of gender fluidity.
