Originally from China and now based out of London, designer Yang Du presented a whimsical, animal themed Fall 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week not suitable for fashion wallflowers. Known for her knitwear, Du showed Technicolor, cartoonish animals dresses, jackets, hats, and backpacks. The fall collection is Du’s humorous take on a Biblical story, Du wanted, “to set up an animal scene where different animals from the jungle would all be trying to get on Noah’s Ark.” The resulting collection is child-like and fun, with color blocked animal faces on knits paired with panda and giraffe backpacks, and swan and crocodile gloves, hats, and scarves.
