YOHJI YAMAMOTO – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
Yohji Yamamoto ventured outside of his traditional silhouettes in his Fall 2012 collection, introducing a body conscious, asymmetrical silhouette to his usual oversized, androgynous looks. The set for the show consisted of a singular, red metal pole, emphasizing the central color that ran through the collection. Looks were dramatically more feminine than in seasons past, with a skin-tight fit, thigh-high slits, and an omnipresent sexuality. The collection had a street wear vibe thanks to highly wearable fabrics, most of the looks coming in jersey or knits, and punk styling with combat boots dip-dyed to match and neon streaks of color in the models’ hair.
