Inspired by Ugandan Princess Elizabeth of Toro, the first East-African female to be admitted to an English bar, Zac Posen‘s Fall/Winter 2016 collection, shown on February 15th 2016, was made for strong women. Elizabeth of Toro was also a top model in the late 60s and Posen brought that time frame to the forefront of a rich collection highlighting culture, beauty, and strength.
From tribal batik wear to simple jacket and trouser combos, Posen brought the different aspects of her diverse life to the runway. In rich navies, deep reds, and emerald greens, the collection showcased Posen’s flawless tailoring, while also giving dresses a fun swing. The cultural, fun collection is perfect for the confident women Posen had in mind- she’s sure to attract the attention of the room in looks like these.
