Zuhair Murad, the go-to couturier for red carpet gowns and ethereal wedding dresses, didn’t let his fans down with his newest collection.
The Lebanese designer stayed true to his whimsical, fairytale aesthetic, with plenty of embellishment, lace, 3D florals and sheer detailing. His usual colour palette of blush pink, icy blue, dove gray and lavender also remained intact.
However, new this season were different silhouettes, asymmetric hems, layering and peplums. An evening coat, trousers and a bodysuit were featured on the runway – albeit in the most luxurious form imaginable.
Traditional bell-shaped skirts and corsets influenced by Elizabeth the first also reoccured throughout the collection. “I love the possibilities of corsets. You could say I wanted to put women in a gilded cage,” the designer said post-show.
