The Artists for Artists: Benefit Auction presented by Artsy x the New York Academy of Art exists to provide funding for emerging artists to study at the New York Academy of Art. This year’s show features a wide variety of works from Academy students, alumni, faculty, and friends who have generously donated their work to support the next generation of artistic talent. Opening on October 1st, the benefit will host a livestream with special guests and live drawing on the 20th, and will close on the 26th.
Artists include: Walter Robinson, Shepard Fairey, Robert Farber, Alonsa Guevara, Jessica Lichtenstein, Indira Cesarine, Rebecca Leveille, Marcelo Daldoce, Slater Bradley, Lynda Churilla, Kim McCarty, Hunt Slonem, Liz Markus, Ross Bleckner among many others.
This semester, the New York Academy of Art has the most diverse incoming MFA class ever. Proceeds will help to establish a BIPOC fund to ensure that as many emerging artists of color as possible might find their way to the Academy to realize their creative dreams. Along with scholarships, the money raised also provides critical support for public programming.
