Lauren Altman Studio is based in Brooklyn and is known for their unique, handmade clothing that merges a bold, fashion-forward aesthetic with traditional utilitarian worker designs. Every collection is deeply rooted in the philosophy that fashion serves as a powerful medium for self-expression and confidence, while also contributing to a more sustainable environment.

The Spring/Summer ’25 collection continued the commitment to sustainability by utilizing upcycled, artisanal, vintage, and deadstock fabrics to create new, wearable works of art. The collection featured seasonless, limited-edition, and made-to-order pieces that were crafted to endure, along with her new ready-to-wear collection. The presentation was an installation featuring models perched on handpainted ladders, holding paint brushes, and exchanging bricks made of discarded clothing courtesy of FabBRICK in a further effort to promote sustainability.

In an exciting collaboration, Lauren Altman Studio also teamed up with celebrated illustrator Jeffrey Fulvimari to create a digital fashion show of the collection projected in the gallery. Fulvimari meticulously illustrated every detail of the vibrant collection, transforming his signature drawings into an animated runway experience that brings the designs to life. Fashion lovers everywhere now get to enjoy the show, even if they missed the physical presentation at the Untitled Gallery during New York Fashion Week.

The collection showcases a vibrant and eclectic mix of bold colors, patterns, and textures, creating a whimsical and expressive atmosphere. The garments feature playful hues like neon pink, electric blue, and deep red, often adorned with multicolored patterns, abstract designs, and splashes of paint. The fabrics range from smooth and flowing to layered and structured, incorporating patchwork designs, painted denim, and embellishments like fringe and tulle. The models wore her signature hand-painted platform shoes, Mary Jane’s, and sneakers with varying silhouettes from fitted pieces to oversized garments, including structured jackets, flowing skirts, and long vests adorned with artistic patches. Each piece emphasized individuality, creativity, and the freedom to mix and match bold, avant-garde elements.

The models in the presentation further reflected the diverse range of people Lauren Altman Studio creates, allowing them to show their personality through her designs. Kanya Sesser, a Paralympian holding the title for longest handstand on a skateboard, modeled in the show and made a confident statement wearing an uncycled piece in her wheelchair. Fashion icon Lauren Ezersky also added to the bold personalities of the presentation, returning from modeling in Altman’s resort presentation this past June.

Lauren Altman Studio operates as a full-circle brand, where each piece is a testament to Altman’s ability to transform the old into new, injecting life into garments through her signature style. Her work is an invitation to explore the playful and curious possibilities of repurposing clothing with elements like paint, beads, and unexpected materials.
