The ARTWALK NY benefit auction, organized by the Coalition for the Homeless, took place on October 21, 2024, at the Chelsea Factory in New York City. Presented by the fashion house Max Mara, this highly anticipated event supported the Coalition’s essential programs that aid more than 3,500 homeless and at-risk individuals daily, including providing emergency food and clothing, eviction prevention, crisis services, and job training.

ARTWALK NY brought together hundreds of artists, art-lovers, and other compassionate New Yorkers to celebrate the role of “artist-as-activist,” raise awareness about the crisis of mass homelessness, and support programs that directly help homeless families and individuals. All proceeds raised by ARTWALK NY go to the Coalition for the Homeless, helping to fund its lifesaving work. The vibrant live and silent auctions and lively cocktail reception drew many prominent guests.

Notable past contributors have included renowned names such as Jenny Holzer, Ed Ruscha, and Kenny Scharf. This year’s event honored Katherine Bradford as the Artist Honoree and philanthropist Aileen Agopian for their contributions to the Coalition for the Homeless. Featured notable artists include Ann Craven, Deborah Kass, Joan Snyder, José Parlá, Katherine Bradford, Katherine Bernhardt, Kenny Scharf, Mr. Brainwash, Patrick Mcmullan, Shepard Fairey, as well as UNTITLED’s editor-in-chief, artist Indira Cesarine with her piece titled Natalya Blue (The Labyrinth Series) (2020).

Guests participated both in person and online, with bidding for the silent auction previewed on Artsy prior to the event. The live auction kicked off at around 7:45 PM EDT, allowing both on-site and remote participation.

And talk about success! This year, ARTWALK NY raised over $700,000 to support the Coalition’s life-saving programs that provide food, clothing, housing, crisis services, eviction prevention, job training, and youth programs to thousands of people in need every day, marking it as one of the most successful ARTWALK events to date.
