ALEXANDER WANG – NEW YORK – SPRING / SUMMER 2013 FASHION SHOW
Alexander Wang, the reigning prince of Fashion Week, once again put on an unforgettable runway show. Featured in his new collection were boxy, angular dresses and jackets, all of which looked deconstructed and slashed, with graphic cutouts which were then sewn back in to reveal stripes of flesh. With each iteration more dramatic than the last, the final handful of dresses looked as if they were barely even tactile, with every panel sutured together by clear fishing line, ethereal and dreamlike, yet substantial at the same time thanks to the heavy presence of leather as a main material.
