ARTHAMPTONS INTERNATIONAL FINE ART FAIR
SCULPTURE FIELDS OF NOVA’S ART – NEW YORK
JUNE 13 – 15
ArtHamptons International Fine Art Fair launches today, July 13, in Bridgehampton, New York and runs until Sunday, July 15. In its fifth successful year, the premiere summer fine art fair finds a new home at the Sculpture Fields of Nova’s Ark. Attendees will be met a memorable experience this year, with 75 fine art galleries, a VIP Lounge, an art cafe, and special events scheduled throughout the weekend. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the impressive large-scale contemporary sculptures in the Sculpture Fields themselves.
The fair’s theme this year is a focus on artist Jackson Pollock’s centennial birthday. The glass lobby is especially designed with Jackson Pollock photographs and memorabilia and Friday night will host the Pollock at 100: A Centennial Celebration party, with all proceeds benefitting the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center. The guests in attendance on Thursday’s opening night were also invited to get in touch with their “inner Pollock”, having the opportunity to drip, flick, and drop paint on a giant canvas in the fair’s lobby.
ArtHamptons 2012 showcases an impressive 75 galleries for art lovers to peruse and shop. The fair has built a reputation for selecting galleries with impeccable reputations and only the highest caliber of art and this year is no exception. National galleries in participation hail from cities such as New York, Chicago, LA and San Francisco, and galleries from countries including Spain, Israel, Korea, Australia, and the UK will give fairgoers an international art experience.
Not to be outdone by the fine galleries, ArtHamptons also features a weekend of panels, discussions and special events. Art historian and curator Gail Levin discusses Krasner and Pollock as well as her new book, Lee Krasner: A Biography on Friday, July 13, 2012. Mark Borghi Fine Arts presents photographer Lisa Jack’s first East Coast showing of her infamous photos of President Barack Obama as a freshman in college (including one never before published photograph). Panels will discuss topics ranging from the passion for art collecting to evaluating art as an investment. A unique live art performance, My Verono, by artist Kristian Verono will round out the weekend’s festivities.
