The ARTWALK NY benefit auction, organized by the Coalition for the Homeless, is set to take place on October 21, 2024, at the Chelsea Factory in New York City. This highly anticipated event, presented by the fashion house Max Mara, aims to support the Coalition’s essential programs that aid more than 3,500 homeless and at-risk individuals daily. These programs include emergency food and clothing, eviction prevention, crisis services, and job training.

ARTWALK NY brings together hundreds of artists, art-lovers, and other compassionate New Yorkers to celebrate the role of “artist-as-activist,” to raise awareness about the crisis of mass homelessness, and to support programs that directly help homeless families and individuals. All proceeds raised by ARTWALK NY support the lifesaving work of the Coalition for the Homeless. The vibrant live and silent auctions and lively cocktail reception have drawn crowds of prominent guests for over 25 years.

The auction will feature a mix of live and silent auctions, showcasing works from over 50 contemporary artists. Notable past contributors have included renowned names such as Jenny Holzer, Ed Ruscha, and Kenny Scharf. This year’s event continues the tradition of honoring influential artists; previous honorees have included Jenny Holzer, who has been a long-time ally of the Coalition.

ARTWALK NY 2024 will honor Katherine Bradford as the Artist Honoree and Aileen Agopian for her philanthropic contributions to the Coalition for the Homeless. This year, ARTWALK NY’s auction will feature notable artists including Ann Craven, Deborah Kass, Joan Snyder, José Parlá, Katherine Bradford, Katherine Bernhardt, Kenny Scharf, Mr. Brainwash, Patrick Mcmullan, Shepard Fairey, as well as UNTITLED’s editor-in-chief, artist Indira Cesarine with her piece titled Natalya Blue (The Labyrinth Series) (2020).

Guests can participate both in person and online, with silent auction bidding already open via the Artsy platform. The live auction will kick off around 7:45 PM EDT, with online participation available for those unable to attend in person. Last year, the event raised over $500,000 for the Coalition’s programs, marking it as one of the most successful ARTWALK events.

For those interested in attending or supporting this cause, tickets are available for purchase, and participation in the auction is encouraged to help support the fight against homelessness in New York City. This event not only highlights the importance of the arts but also engages the community in critical social issues, making it a significant occasion on the New York social calendar.
