“I think everyone has fallen for someone who they know is terribly wrong for them, that so-called bad boy or girl. “Sex, Lies and Destruction” is about the attraction to the danger that can pull you in like a magnet, even though you know it can only end one way – crash and burn.”
Blondfire’s Erica Driscoll delivers an ode to doomed love in her newest track. Premiered exclusively today by The Untitled Magazine, “Sex, Lies and Destruction,” reveals sultry lyrics:
Desire, skin on skin
Take me down
Collide again
Ride the rising tide
Wave so strong
I let you in
You were crueler, colder
Sharp as a knife
No one’s gonna stop you now
We went deeper, darker
Larger than life
Nothings gonna catch our fall
You’re the sweetest seduction
Sex lies and destruction
“Sex, Lies and Destruction” gives listeners a glimpse of the gritty truths and expansive emotions that run deep through Driscoll’s upcoming EP, True Confessions, which contains five tracks filled with everything from melancholy vocals to massive melodies. Recorded at historic Hollywood studio, WAX ltd., True Confessions signals an evolution for Driscoll, both sonically and lyrically. Already released tracks “Pleasure” and title track, “True Confessions,” showcase more guitars, deeper bite, and display a true sense of musical purpose. With early radio support from Alt Nation, KROQ, Alt 98.7, KCSN, True Confessions is set to be an exciting release for 2016.
Blondfire first gained massive attention with the 2014 hit, “Where the Kids Are” off of the breakout album Young Heart, which shot to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Alternative chart and became a staple on SiriusXM Alt Nation. Since then Driscoll has attracted a worldwide fan base, made numerous festival appearances and garnered more than 7 million combined plays on Spotify and YouTube. Her ethereal vocals and songwriting chops have been showcased in collaborations with Avicii and Zella Day and she has shared a stage with Foals, Awolnation, The Shins, Surfer Blood, and The Mowglis.
