Rapper Brooke Candy recently released the music video for her single “Nasty,” a catchy track about a player, with Brooke singing, “if you see him creepin’ baby watch your back.” Directed by legendary photographer and filmmaker Rankin at his London studio, Brooke describes the video as “one part Charlie Chaplin…one part John Waters…one part Pam and Tommy’s sex tape…the 2016 pop music version of ‘How to Marry a Millionaire.'”
The video begins with an opening reminiscent to Looney Tunes and Bugs Bunny, with the rapper becoming “Brooke Bunny.” Brooke appears in a red western costume, popping bubbles and singing “oh he’s so pretty, he think he run this city.” The rest of the wild video consists of Brooke lying down with a scorpion crawling across her forehead, dressed in a sparkly, red bikini with giant white wings on her back, and driving a car in a leopard-print one-piece. Brooke’s colorful red and fuchsia outfits, rhinestoned makeup, and bubble-lettered graphics of “Nasty” appearing throughout the video. She dances and sings while a snake slithers up her arm. Continuing with the cartoon theme, the video ends with the words “that’s not all kids” appearing on the screen, letting the audience know we can expect more from the rapping sensation.
