Art Basel Miami Beach has announced the exhibitors and initial highlights for its 2024 show, marking the first edition under the leadership of Bridget Finn. This year’s event, taking place from December 6-8, will host 282 galleries from 34 countries, including 31 first-time participants, the largest influx of newcomers since 2008. The fair’s revitalized program aims to attract new and returning audiences with an array of world-class galleries showcasing diverse artistic practices. Nearly two-thirds of the exhibitors hail from the Americas, representing various regions such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and more.

The fair will feature several first-time exhibitors from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. These newcomers include galleries from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and various states across the United States. European and Asian galleries are also well-represented, with entries from Spain, Portugal, France, Poland, China, Singapore, South Korea, and Indonesia. This diverse lineup reflects Art Basel’s commitment to platforming a wide range of artistic voices and promoting cross-cultural collaboration in the art world.

Art Basel Miami Beach will be structured across several exhibition sectors. The main sector, Galleries, will feature 226 Modern, postwar, and contemporary art dealers from around the world. This sector will include four first-time participants and 25 newcomers entering the main sector for the first time, facilitated by a new entry-level booth option to support smaller galleries. Additionally, the show will have sectors such as Nova, Positions, and Survey, each focusing on different aspects of artistic practice and presentation.

The Nova sector will highlight younger galleries presenting works created within the last three years by up to three artists. This year’s Nova will feature 21 presentations from around the world, including nine newcomers. Among the notable participants are Charles Moffett from New York, Galerie Allen from Paris, and Gallery Nosco from Brussels. The sector is known for showcasing prescient works fresh from the artist’s studio, providing a space for discovery and innovation.

The Positions sector will host 15 solo showcases of vanguard works by emerging artists, with eight exhibitors participating in Art Basel Miami Beach for the first time. Notable newcomers include Gordon Robichaux from New York and Carmo Johnson Projects from São Paulo. This sector provides a platform for individual artists to present their work to collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts, facilitating deeper engagement with their practices.

The survey, dedicated to projects created before 2000, will feature 17 galleries, including ten newcomers. This sector focuses on elevating significant yet often overlooked artistic practices, with many presentations highlighting the work of women artists from the 20th century. New participants include ILY2 from Portland and SAPAR Contemporary from New York, each bringing unique and historically relevant artworks to the fair.
