Dua Lipa has announced her forthcoming new album Radical Optimism. Her third LP, Radical Optimism follows up her 2020 smash hit record, Future Nostalgia, which actualized her global domination, becoming inescapable for anyone within earshot of a radio.
Lead by hit single “Houdini” and its successor “Training Season,” Radical Optimism is set to show Lipa in her defiantly self-positive light. In an interview with Variety, Lipa detailed what’s to come, citing Britpop as a major source of inspiration the new record, particularly acts such as Oasis and Massive Attack. Producer Kevin Parker, the mastermind behind Tame Impala, is helming production with other collaborators such as PC Music happy hardcore wizard Danny L. Harle and Adele associate Tobias Jesso Jr. As for new tracks to come, Lipa has teased “Illusion,” a song about “entertaining [someone’s bullshit] for the hell of it, even though you see what’s happening.” “Happy for You,” Lipa has said, is closer to a ballad, which is unusual for the pop star, known for her upbeat dance tracks.
