Legendary multiplatinum pop legends Duran Duran recently announced that their new album FUTURE PAST is set for a global release date of October 22nd. The album enrolled collaborations with a few of the most prominent names of the last 50 years, delivering to us yet another incredible genre-spanning piece of work that most certainty distinguishes them from the pack.
FUTURE PAST collaborations will include British DJ/producer Erol Alkan, pioneering Italian composer/producer Giorgio Moroder, multiplatinum Swedish hit-maker Tove Lo, Ivorian Doll, Mark Ronson, Mark ‘Spike’ Stent, and Japanese rock band, CHAI. Graham Coxon also made an appearance when he co-wrote and lent his guitar to several tracks on the record. Not to mention David Bowie’s former pianist, Mike Garson, is said to have added an exquisite sonic layer to the album’s closer, FALLING.
Following this announcement, the band dropped additional news of their new smash hit called TONIGHT UNIFIED, which acts as a precursor to the album. It features the help of legendary composer, songwriter, and electronic dance music pioneer Giorgio Moroder, who added his magic touch to the track to create an instant future classic.
“Giorgio Moroder, Duran Duran… this is music for a world that’s coming back together,” Simon Le Bon.
Duran Duran will be performing at Global Citizen LIVE on September 25, where they are set to perform their new single, ANNIVERSARY.
The band will also be headlining this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival, beginning Sunday, October 3rd and 10th.
FUTURE PAST will be available on all digital platforms and in a variety of physical formats: standard CD, cassette, a limited edition deluxe hardback book CD featuring three additional tracks, and colored vinyl.
