ELIE SAAB – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
The Fall 2012 “Urban Elegance” collection from Elie Saab attempts to encapsulate the modern incarnation of the Elie Saab city girl. The collection felt precise and tailored, with clean lines and nipped waists. Daywear included meticulously crafted peplum skirts and dresses, designed in both crêpe georgette shifts and body-conscious silhouettes with cutouts. Evening wear brought out the metallics, showing embroidered sheaths illuminated with sequins and crystals. Looks were paired with architectural jackets that ranged from the everyday to bold statement pieces. The collection was heightened and given graphic appeal with contrast cobweb lace inserts at collars, necklines, and sleeves and printed bronze branches across delicate chiffon.
