The New York Times has announced programming for its inaugural TimesTalks Festival, a three-day series of conversations and performances coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the publication’s prominent TimesTalks series.
The festival will pair Times journalists with today’s most creative minds in art, film, television, theater, fashion, politics and literature. This year’s notable participants include Grace Jones, Margaret Atwood, Katie Couric, Susan Collins, Joni Ernst, Nan Goldin, Heidi Heitkamp, Glenda Jackson, Amy Klobuchar, Dr. Andrew Kolodny, Laurie Metcalf, Elisabeth Moss, Pentatonix, Denzel Washington, and George C. Wolfe. Participating New York Times contributors include Michael Barbaro, Katie Benner, Frank Bruni, Philip Galanes, Maggie Haberman, Tina Jordan, Jennifer Steinhauer, and Megan Twohey. In addition to the festival’s talks, visitors will be able to interact with live versions of popular New York Times columns and screen Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The event will be live-streamed on Facebook and will also be available to watch on the TimesTalks Youtube channel.
