The HAIM sisters joined Dior in kicking off this year’s Guggenheim International Gala on November 15th and 16th. The gala, which marked the 80th anniversary of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, honored artist Cai Guo-Qiang, former President of Guggenheim Board of Trustees Jennifer Blie Stockman and UBS in recognition of its collaboration with the museum on the Gugghenheim MAP Global Art Initiative.
The festivities began on November 15th with a special pre-party performance by HAIM, whose 2017 album “Something to Tell You,” debuted in the top ten of the Billboard 200. Dancer Daniil Simkin performed an excerpt from his work “Falls the Shadow” featuring costume design by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director of Dior.
Proceeds from the gala contribute to the Guggenheim’s general operating fund, which advances the museum’s range of internationally acclaimed exhibitions and educational programs and and provides for the care of the museum’s landmark Frank Lloyd Wright–designed building.
