JOHN RICHMOND OPENS HIS PARIS STORE DURING FASHION WEEK
On October 5th 2009 John Richmond unveiled his first boutique in France. Located at 62 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré the new store in Paris was a collaboration with John Richmond and French architect, Christophe Pillet. Creating a fresh space for the brand’s new philosophy and using surfaces such as black smoked glass, mono-toned leather furnishings and lots of chrome the space was the perfect backdrop for the designers’ distinctive tattoo designs and skeletons. These features were included in the merchandising and displays. Enlivening the boutique with John Richmond’s famous rock and roll soul. There was an art installation that doubled as lighting, which consisted of mens torsos cut below the waist and had bundles of heavy chains dangling underneath them. The celebrations for the boutique opening were decadent and fun with an after party to finish at VIP. Behind the background of skulls and old pirate like wall hangings a pretty female DJ played some sexy electro as the crowd started to get loose. Guests were treated to citrus based cocktails, champagne and delicious canapés all night and on exit goodies bags with limited edition silk scarves and John Richmond’s womens fragrance. This store joins the already exisiting boutiques in: Milan, Capri, Porto Cervo and Kiev.
