BOA HOA @ NY MODELS
Bao Hoa (born July 31, 1985) is a Vietnamese supermodel and an international model. Born in Saigon, she was raised by her grand mother’s family, especially her mother who is always beside her and supports her every step. At school, Bao Hoa dreamed of being a businesswoman. But life had other plans for her… Modeling – A new step of her life: In the Summer of ‘02, Bao Hoa trained and became a model at a French agency in Saigon, then chosen by the Pierre Cardin Agency to represent Vietnam at a Ford Supermodel of the World contest, competing with 54 models from other countries. That journey helped her gain valuable experience about the modeling world reality.
Bao Hoa then worked as a freelance model. A slim body, sensual curves and a beautiful face, a great personality seduces clients and professionals in the Vietnam fashion industry. She has now appeared extensively in the media, in print ads, runway works, for the country’s advertising giants: Covers and interviews in famous magazines: Beautiful, Young Fashion, Marketing and Family, Art, Heritage Fahsion, Cosmetic, Sport Culture and Man, Beautiful Woman… Runway works: Beautiful Fashion show, Motorola, Tiger, Parkson, Glow, Olay, Lolita Lempika, Amore, Wella, L’Oreal, Sony Ericson, Debon, Shiseido… Fashion/advertising: Honda, Shiseido Spa, Enchanteur, Evesoft, Eversoft Spa, Saving Call, Parker and Waterman pens, Caravelle Hotel, Khaisilk, Thai Tuan…
Acting by chance – her second step in her professional life: It started when she accidentally went to a casting with a friend. The director Luu Trong Ninh immediately chose her saying the moment she stepped in the room, he knew she was the one he was looking for. Bao Hoa accepted to act in a lead part for the character “Thu” in the TV series “Hill of Love” (Doc Tinh) in 54 episodes. She shot 6 months in Da Lat and Sai Gon. Acting lets allowed her to not only show her sensual curves but also an ability to play strong expressive characters.
Bao Hoa becomes an International Model – The third direction in life: Bao Hoa soon outgrew the modeling and acting world of Vietnam. She was passionate to learn more about the fashion industry overseas and international modeling. Bao Hoa contacted Elite Model Agency in Hong Kong and immediately was called to work there. Her impressive pictures and strong work ethics got her signed right away. This was her first time working in another country, away from her family. At only 18, she had to do everything on her own for 3 months. It was no easy task, but she never complained and even appreciated that period very much. The challenge brought her many real life experiences that she needed in order to move on in life as a person and advance her career as a model.
In October ‘05, she embarked on a new, difficult challenge. She became the first Vietnamese model to come to the US. She was extremely excited when the top agency in Los Angeles – L.A. Models – signed her. This led to her being represented by NY Models as well. Between these two major cities, she became more popular each month. The competition was very tough but she has a strong will. She spoke fluent English, which gave her an edge over other visiting Asian models. She was fortunate to work with top photographers and for famous worldwide magazines: Mr. Gilles Bensimon for Elle USA, Mr. Arthur Elgort for Vogue USA, Mr. Greg Kadel for Vogue China, Mr. Philippe Salomon for Cosmo Girl; Teen Vogue USA, GQ USA, Trace, Glamour USA, Tokion NY, Conde Nast Traveller … Despite a figure and height considered small for the western modeling world, her career flourished despite her size. Mr. Cory Bautista, Director of NY Models Agency said, “Bao Hoa works seriously, and has her own style. That is why she is one of the models that our clients trust the most. She is always on time and satisfies the client’s every requirement in a professional way.” (Source: VietNamNet)
As if working in the US wasn’t enough, her passion for travel and discovery led her to experience the world. She recently booked an International job and signed a contract with Storm Management in London, Mannequin Agency in Singapore, Base Model Agency in South Africa. Her image has often appeared on many top magazines there such as: Marie Claire, GQ, Her World, Cleo, Women’s Weekly, NewMan, Beauty Black Book, Urban News… She is currently based in NY, but every year she goes back to VN for a short time to visit her family. Her road to success may seem lined with a red carpet of roses, but behind every step is her hard work, dedication and confidence that only comes from experience… plus maybe “a little bit of luck”… she admits.
