Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe

Killer Heels takes an in-depth look inside the world of one of fashion’s most beloved accessories. The exhibition will take visitors from the history of high heels in sixteenth-century Italy to the modern stilettos of today. Over 160 heels will be featured ranging from historical to contemporary. The featured designers include Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Vivienne Westwood. Alongside the shoes will be six short films specially commissioned and inspired by the exhibition by filmmakers Ghada Amer and Reza Farkhondeh, Zach Gold, Steven Klein, Nick Knight, Marilyn Minter, and Rashaad Newsome.
